Did you know from 16 September 2009, building inspectors are no longer regulated under the Home Building Act in NSW? This means that building consultancy inspectors are no longer licensed by NSW Fair Trading and any unqualified person can carry out an inspection.
We recommend you obtain a copy of the inspector’s builders licence and certificate of currency for their professional indemnity insurance before you engage their services.
If you do engage the services of an unlicensed, uninsured building inspector, you could be risking your investment on the advice of a novice.
